Heritage Building In London Gets An Update…

Fitzrovia were appointed to undertake an extensive clean and refurbishment of the façade of this Grade II listed office and shop block framing north-western quadrant of Oxford Circus and the approach.

Using specialist contractors and methods, the listed façade was gently cleaned of decades of staining from the city’s pollution, whilst extensive repairs were undertaken to the stone frontages.

As well as this we carried out redecoration and adjustments to the metal windows and tests to the lighting on all facades.

After the specialist removal of asbestos from the roof area, the roof in its entirety was repaired and recovered with a Kemperol Liquid Roofing membrane and a new perimeter balustrade installed on all sides of the building.

There was a requirement for extensive liaison with the building tenants to ensure that as far as possible the works on the building caused as little as possible disruption. Furthermore given the public nature of the site, wide ranging management in terms of the health and safety impact on the general public was required. Much of the work was hence undertaken out of hours.
