Corporate Responsibility

At Fitzrovia Construction we are committed to carrying out our endeavours within an environment of responsibility and consideration. We are fully aware of the impact that our work has and may have on all aspects of the contexts in which we operate and understand the effect that these factors can have on our striving to fulfil our missions, achieve profit and remain competitive in our operating markets.

The Environment - Our aim is to limit and prevent the adverse impact of our actions on the environment. We consciously ensure that we only use timber that is sourced from FSC or PEFC approved sources and take great care in the disposal of any materials which could prove hazardous or harmful to our surroundings and the people in it. We understand that incorporating sustainability into buildings is vital in developments today and strive to use materials and equipment that reduce the carbon emissions generated in both their manufacture and operation.

Further to this we have taken great steps to limit the amount of paper that goes through our office. We have invested heavily in software which has greatly cut our paper consumption and will mean that we can eventually become a totally paperless office. Where possible all of our waste materials are recycled.

Health and Safety - We aim to ensure that no harm will come to our employees or members of the public as a result of our activities. Our employees are trained and qualified in carrying out their work in a safe and competent manner and the proper ways in which to operate when working on a construction site.

We operate within a bespoke health and safety mentor service, which means that all activities where there is a risk of any kind have been assessed and controlled. We can happily report that in the last 3 years the number of serious and three day injuries stand at zero.

Our People - We understand the importance of having a happy and talented workforce and operate an open house policy with regards to suggestions from employees as to how they wish to further themselves. We run a comprehensive training program to ensure that all of our staff, both site and office based, are competent in their dealings and remain challenged and content in their positions.

We expect all of our staff to abide by our core values and to work to their fullest potential and respect the views of all of their colleagues within our ethnically diverse company. We understand the importance of rewarding hard work and determination and ensure that all of our staff are remunerated for hard work, in order that we can maintain a successful workforce, that all involved can be proud of being included in.

Communities - We endeavour to create the least disturbance possible to the neighbours of all of our sites, no matter how big or small. We are proud to consider ourselves Considerate Builders. We endeavour to remain in contact with all of our neighbours to keep them up to date of any goings on which may have an effect on them.

We ensure that where and when we are able, that donations are made to charities and make every effort to carry out projects that help assist the young, elderly and those with disabilities.
